The King Tournament and Queen Tournament have always given me joy through the years. Just like the entertainment value of an upset in the college basketball championship tournament, I have always enjoyed watching this one play out. From watching those struggling through the season finally have a couple of good weeks and upset numerous times. I’ve seen the guy who finished 41st in a race beat a guy who finished 43rd. I’ve seen a guy finish in last place and advance because his opponent missed the race.

Early on, the Tournament was as one but as the league membership became bigger, they separated, but not always. Especially with the first few years, the winners of the crowns, including the runners up or winners of a losers bracket or a sub tournament were granted other royal titles such as Prince, Princess, Duke and such.

The Survivor Series is a nice little team oriented event. In it usually two tags teams are teamed up, although at times there are random people put together or for simple reasons, like friends or family, the group of four is created. In this each week it’s one team versus another. The low scorer, multiple if on the same team, are eliminated. At times there have been instances where a person was to be eliminated but their partner won the race so they were saved. Just like at times during the Rumble. When one team is eliminated, the remaining members of the winning team move onto the next round, and again until there is a winner.

The Tag Team Tournament is another event that involves everyone. This is a King/Queen like single elimination tournament but this is two people teaming up. Usually again, friends or family tend to make up most of the teams. Some husband and wife teams are represented, even some parents and their kin, I try to find some connection between the teammates but it’s not always the case. In each of these events, your race scores are used as your event scores for the week. For the tag team tournament, both of the members scores are added up and used as the team score, with the highest team score moving forward.
